November Glossy Box - The Autumn Box

This months box is all about Autumn beauty. Which is all about warm tones and slightly more dramatic makeup. Autumn beauty is my jam, so I was looking forward to this box.

Our first offering is Royal Apothic's Body Lotion. The full size is worth £14.50, but the box contains the travel size (which is still a good amount).

I haven't yet used this, as I tend to hate how any kind of body lotion feels on my skin. It's supposed to be used post-shower. Hopefully next time I shower I'll remember to try this out as the bitter cold of this time of year really is affecting my skin.

Next is Emite's Diamond Heart Primer. The full size retails at £25.90, but again, this is a travel size. This primer feels quite a bit heavier to apply than my usual Porefessional from Benefit, but once applied it feels fine. It's a little sticky, but this helps with the staying power of products applied on top of this. Overall I like this product, and have been reaching for it instead of Poreffesional.

These are Eylure's Natural Lashes which, of course, are full sized and retail at £5. I love Eylure lashes, so this was a lovely addition to the box. They are a great deal more natural than I typically buy, but that's really nice, as I feel I could wear these everyday without anyone noticing I'm wearing falsies.

This is Revlon's Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry which sells for £7.99. I was able to choose the shade out of four options, so of course I went for the darkest one. The colour is gorgeous, but I'm not overly enamoured with the formula. I hate lipsticks that are supposed to be hydrating, as I feel they are just slip and sliding around on my lips (it doesn't help that my lips are very dry at the moment). To get a clean finish with this lipstick I have to apply it with a brush, which I sort of resent having to do. I'm still wearing this regularly, though, cos I love the colour.

To finish, we have MUA's Undressed Palette. Which has a lovely selection of neutral tones with some transition-into-night-time shades.

I'm a bit so-so about the formula of MUA eye shadows, especially their mattes. There is only one matte in this palette and its pigmentation is actually quite good. All the other shadows apply nicely as well. Overall, I quite like this palette.

From left to right, top row to bottom row, the shades are: Puff, Rose Ash, Fawn, Gild, Hazel, Lion, Bronze Ore, Burnished Brown, Tawny, Henna, Fuel, Cool Grey.

In this photo I used the Emite Primer as a base, followed by Mac's Studio Fix Powder Foundation, Sleek's contour kit and Revlon's cream blush in Coral Reef. I used Two Faced Shadow Insurance as a primer for my eyes, with Hazel in my crease, Gild and Henna on my lid, Puff in my inner corner and Fuel underneath my lower lashes and on my upper lash line. I'm wearing Loreal's Volume Million Lashes as my mascara along with the Eylure Natural Lashes. On my lips I'm wearing the Revlon Lipstick.

Bring on the December Box, which I hope is suitably festive.

Urban Decay's Vice 4 Palette - What's Up Pretty?

So, Urban Decay's Vice Palette's are straight out my favourite palettes (discounting the Inglot ones, as I put those together myself). The packaging is always stylish as all hell, the colours are incredible and the shadow's formula is delightful. Nevermind the good mix of textures and tones, so you can create loads of great looks with this one palette.

When I first moved to London I discovered that the department stores sold Urban Decay and I needed to buy some of their products, anything. With my student loan in my pocket I decided to buy Vice 2. I love that palette dearly and completely, but I felt like getting Vice 3 would be an unnecessary indulgence; my brother and sister in law got it for me for Christmas last year. Again, loved dearly. This time round I'm a working woman, so I bought Vice 4 with very little guilt and my playing has just begun.

This is the box; I'm totally digging the shattered glass theme.

Vice 3 also came in a cute zip bag. Now I just need to figure out what to use this for...

The actual palette. It is a little fragile, the top design being a plastic frame. The photo doesn't do justice to the oil-slick-rainbow colours on the design.

Like the other Vice palettes, 4 has a large mirror on an actual hinge so it stands on its own. Thus, this palette would be great to travel with.

And now the box of gems that is that actual shadows. I feel like taking this palette out for a nice dinner and some cocktails afterwards. Hot damn. Again, there is a good mix of textures and tones.

Bones is a pale, shimmery taupe-ish shade.

I think this shade would look lovely in the inner corners of the eyes.

Framed is a warm, beige satin (a matte with a slight glitter running through it to make it smoother to use and easier to blend - it basically functions as a matte).

This is a good shade to blend out the crease or use on the lid for a more neutral look.

Discreet is a cool toned, satin taupe.

I would use this either in the inner corners or on the lid.

Bitter is one of my favourite shades in the entire palette. I'd say this is a true matte. It is an incredibly warm red-toned brown.

I'm all about using this in the crease.

Grip is a stunning, silvery shimmer. I think this shade is quite original and I love it.

I'm thinking about using this on the lid for a bit of a festive feel.

Fast-Ball is a duo-chrome pink shimmer. It has a beautiful gold shift to it.

This is a lid colour (and a beautiful one at that). This is a pink I will happily use.

And Grasshopper, one of the show-stoppers of the palette, I'd say. A beautiful, shimmery emerald.

I think I'll be using this colour over Nyx's Milk to fully utilise it's potential.

Another of the show-stoppers; Flame. A very apt name, I feel. A shimmery red with a gold shimmer. So Pretty.

Again, I'll be wanting to use a creamy pencil as a base for this colour, because I want it to POP.

Deadbeat. A Black with blue and green glitter throughout. I always fall in love with these shades in the palette and feel they never quite live up to that on the lid.

This swatch shows quite a bit of the glitter, so I have some hope. I'd use this on the lid, the crease and under the lower lashes.

1985 is a purple with a blue duo-chrome, which is one of the fastest ways into my heart. The purple is very warm, making this colour even more stunning.

I'm so excited to use this as a lid colour.

C-Note is a super shimmery, pale green.

Another gorgeous lid colour.

Low is a dark, shimmery taupe.

This will make a great neutral lid colour with a bit of a kick.

Beat Down is a beautiful shimmery navy, which is another of my favourite eye shadow shades.

This screams raven wings, and that excites me.

Underhand is a mauve with a cold toned shimmer.

This is another quite individual shade and I love it.

Arctic is a pale, shimmery turquoise.

Another great lid colour.

Crowbar is a shimmery old gold.

I love shades like this, gives a bit of an edge to a typical gold smoky eye.

Pandemonium is a dark, shimmery purple.

This will be a perfect shade to use for a smoky eye.

Harlot is a pale, shimmery mauve.

This is much colder than Underhand and thus they will compliment each other nicely.

Robbery is another shimmery Taupe, being a shade in between Bones and Low.

Another great neutral shade to use on the lid.

And finally Delete, a lovely, warm, dark brown satin.

I will be using this shade to darken the crease and underneath the lower lashes.

Here is a quick look I did with some of the shadows in this palette. I used Bitter and Delete in the crease and under the lower lashes, Deadbeat and Flame on the lid and Bones in the inner corner.

I am so excited to play more with this palette, you have no idea.
